Farmington – Lillian G. Hand, 84, of Farmington, died early Saturday morning at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center in Farmington. She was born in Temple, January 2, 1929, a daughter of Roger and Gladys (Riggs) Smith and received her education in local schools. On April 22, 1951, she married Edward Alfred Hand in Temple. He died in 1972. Mrs. Hand was employed at Forster Manufacturing Co. for over 19 years. Mrs. Hand enjoyed playing beano, attending yard sales, and spending time with her family. She loved her cat, Precious. She is survived by her children, Robert Hand and his wife, Kaylon of OK, Lawrence Hand and his wife, Barbara of Wilton, Juanita Allen and husband, Stuart of Jay, Veronica Tilton and husband, Timothy of Chesterville, Patricia Quirrion and her husband, George of Jay, Beverly Sincyr and her husband, David of Skowhegan, and Edward Hand and his fiancé Claire Grover of Farmington; brothers, Roger Smith and his wife, Lois of New Sharon and Ronald Smith and his wife, Rita of Temple; sister, Alberta Tracy of Sandy River Nursing Care Center of Farmington; daughter-in-law, Carolee of Starks; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren with another due in May; and one great great granddaughter; She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Roger; a daughter, Judith; two grandsons, Laurence and Matthew; and two great grandsons, Bakari and Lucas. The family would like to thank her granddaughter, Sarah and her daughter-in-law, Barbara for helping Lillian during her time of illness. Condolences and tributes may be shared with her family on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com. A time of fellowship and sharing will be held on April 6 from noon – 5 p. m. at the Wilton American Legion Hall. Private family interment will be on May 18 at 2 p. m. at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to her family , c/o the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, who is assisting the family with their services.
